Hi, we, DBaaS Unmasked team, have developed this service to help you save money. We want to openly show the difference between the cost of DBaaS and regular instances in the cloud with an installed database. The thing is that the cost of most DBaaS instances (RDS, Aurora) is noticeably more expensive than Amazon EC2.
Here is how the service works (using Amazon AWS as an example):
- We check Amazon AWS open pricing lists for RDS and EC2 pricing.
- Find a correspondence between RDS and EC2 instances.
- Display information about features and prices in a convenient format of charts and tables.
Currently we process information about Amazon AWS. If you are interested in information about other cloud providers such as Google or Microsoft Azure, please contact us.
